BlogsApril's MomMay 11, 2008 - 1:41pm — Kathy Ghost hunterI write about are true stories of the supernatural that I personally have experienced. Sometimes there is more to the story then I tell about. With Mothers Day coming up I thought this would be the best time to tell this about this case. Prince working on bookMay 6, 2008 - 10:06am — FAdams"Prince the musical auteur is becoming an author," according to a Pioneer Press report. "21 Nights," a "photographic essay" is his first book and is based on Prince's 21 sold-out concerts in as many nights at London's O2 Arena in 2007. Star Trib publisher denies bankruptcy storyMay 5, 2008 - 9:29am — FAdamsThe publisher of the Star Tribune on Sunday denied a New York Post report that the paper is on the brink of bankruptcy. In addition to declining advertising revenue, the Star Tribune reported last week that its weekday circulation fell 6.74 percent to 321,984 in the six-month period that ended March 31. The Pioneer Press reports that Avista Capital Partners, owner of the Star Tribune, has hired Blackstone Group to analyze the company's finances. "But that hardly merits a conclusion that we are near bankruptcy," Publisher Chris Harte reportedly said. Walking SpiritsMay 3, 2008 - 2:21pm — Kathy Ghost hunterI have been aware for some time now about these spirits. What has prompted me writing about them is some of the articles I have been reading about them. They do not call these poor souls Walking Spirits, they are called “Tramp Souls or Spirits” “Vagabond Spirits” “Restless Spirits” and other not so nice names. I prefer to call them “Walking Spirits” The American Indians knew about these spirits for centuries. These are spirits that have chosen not to cross over at the time they needed to for what ever reason and wonder the world. More Trash or TreasuresMay 1, 2008 - 7:15am — Cre8tivegangBefore you visit garage sales, thrift stores, flea markets, antique malls, estate sales and auctions for pieces to transform, clear out your own spaces to see what you can discover. The key to creating treasure from trash is to look at things in a different light and be open to possibilities. Remember, most wobbly furniture can be strengthened with glue, dings can be covered up and stains can be cut out. You don't need a huge budget for a creative dramatic change. Your furniture may not be glamorous, but it's functional -- you may not need to buy a new table or desk. Numbers for thought on Central CorridorApril 23, 2008 - 12:50pm — sfieckeAs a former daily traveler of University Avenue between St. Paul and Minneapolis, I always thought that if any place made since for a light rail line, that would be it. The road is super busy and is a major conduit between the cities, with much of the population likely to use transit. I just received the following group e-mail from Rep. Mark Buesgens, R-Jordan, in which he makes some good points about the cost of the project. Read it and tell me what you think: Grew up in a Sears homeApril 23, 2008 - 11:51am — FAdamsMarlyn Weber from Oakdale called on the telephone Wednesday morning to say she had seen the recent write-up and photo in the Villager about the demolition of the Sears Catalogue Home on 78th Street.
