Meteorologists and hydrologists from the National Weather Service Weather and Water Forecast Office and the NOHRSC in Chanhassen will host a booth at The Great Minnesota Get Together, the 2010 Minnesota State Fair.

The NWS is at the fair daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Aug. 26 through Labor Day, Sept. 6.

The NWS, along with representatives from the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), will have their booth in the education building on the east side of the fairgrounds. Their booth will feature the following:

* Computer terminals to navigate NWS web sites.

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson wanted to sign the Finland defender, 36, but Leverkusen were not for selling.

Carver County Sheriff's Lt. Jim Olson has temporarily stepped away from his job as liaison officer at Chanhassen City Hall.

Notice the Olson for Sheriff campaign signs that have been popping up around town.

He has been temporarily replaced, effective Monday, Aug. 16, by Sgt. Pete Anderley, who held the liaison position for about 17 months from mid-2007 to 2009. The Chanhassen City Council upgraded the liaison position from a Sgt. to a Lt. in 2009.
