Prince was unbelievable last night.
I hate halftime shows, especially overextended Super Bowl halftime shows. But Prince knocked my socks off.
Before the best halftime show in Super Bowl history, I thought maybe I'd suggest an online forum to the effect of "If Prince is performing at the Super Bowl, does that mean he's hit the pinnacle of his career -- or the twilight?" Usually, the halftime Super Bowl acts are either lame or washed up, in my opinion.
But, like I said, Prince came out with guns a-blazin'. He was fantastic.
I love that he jammed a little, played some covers, and then -- wham! -- hit us with "Purple Rain" while singing in the pouring rain.
Also, there was that gimmick with the sheet flying in the wind and Prince's shadow cast on it -- awesome. I'm a fan of aesthetics, and this was just one of the most beautiful shows I've ever seen.
What do you think they going to do with the Sign-shaped stage?

He is a true showman. I was in the front row for his Musicology tour. It was the most memorable concert I've ever been to. He puts everything he has into his shows and makes sure you'll never forget the experience. The music was unbelievable - most people don't sound better live - but he does. The energy of the band and the dancers was amazing. Prince may be small in stature, but his stage presence is huge. The crowd interaction and guitar solos were also highlights. Prince is an all around entertainer. I'm glad the world got to see him strut his stuff on national television during the biggest game of the year. What do you think about this theory that he used his guitar as a phallic symbol when the sheet dropped down at the end of the performance? I think it's just a bunch of perverts looking for their next superbowl halftime "malfunction".

Back to page topBest half-time show ever. In high heels. In the rain. Don't care if it's phallic or not, but it seems like the organizers felt the need to add a few things, like fireworks, the giant sheet and the backup dancers, even though Prince doesn't need any extras.
Has anyone been to his show in Vegas? I read that he might show up any time after 10 p.m. You just have to wait.
True?
