Mario Cortolezzis, 36 of Waconia, has been charged with four counts of theft and four counts of theft by swindle (all felonies), according to a press release from Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom.

Carver County Attorney Jim Keeler announced today that Phillip Lee Graunke (DOB: 6/20/1989) of Prior Lake, was sentenced to four years in prison for the aggravated robbery of a convenience store in Waconia in August 2009, according to a press release from the Carver County Attorney's Office.

A 51-year-old Chanhassen man is out on bail following a brief stint in Carver County Jail after he was taken into custody on March 12 on suspicion he had committed identity theft.

A Carver County jury found Chaska teen Brody Bermel (Roehlke) not guilty on all charges in the death of Kirk Anderson. Bermel, 17, was charged with three counts of murder for his involvement in an altercation on Aug. 6, 2008 in which he struck Anderson with a steel pipe, ultimately resulting in his death. Bermel's attorney argued that Bermel was acting in self defense. The verdict was returned shortly after 6 p.m. after approximately six hours of deliberation.
