If you are traveling west on 312 at the end of the day, exit at 101 and take it down to Pioneer Trail or 212. The back up and wait to exit to 41 is 20-30 minutes AT LEAST! I sat at a complete stand still for about 10 minutes yesterday at about 5:30 waiting to exit to 41 and finally decided to make a u-ey and head back east to 101.

Going east in the morning is fine for me, I leave a little later than most people - after 8am, so traffic on 41 northbound has loosened up quite a bit by then. My commute time is half what it is on 212. Can't wait until they finish it to Carver!

Hwy 212 opening update

New Highway 212, between Highway 41 and Dell Road, is now expected to open by early Friday evening.

CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY

(As of 11/30/07 – subject to change without notice)

212 BETWEEN DELL ROAD AND HWY 41 OPEN TO TRAFFIC BY

DECEMBER 7

Sometime between Wednesday, December 5, and Friday, December 7, weather

permitting and following completion of several remaining tasks, Hwy 212 between

Dell Road and Hwy 41 will open permanently to traffic. The interchanges at Hwy

101 and Powers Blvd. will open at the same time. However, Powers Blvd. between

Pioneer Trail and the new interchange will remain closed until late summer 2008 due

to extended settlement times necessary for consolidation of poor soils.

On Monday, December 3, 10 a.m., there will be an event celebrating for the

opening of the new 212 between Dell Road and Hwy 41. The event will be held on

the new highway in the vicinity of the Hwy 101 interchange. Access to the event will

be provided from Dell Road.

UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES

Hwy 101 and Hwy 41 – Beginning on Tuesday, December 4, signals at the

intersections of Highway 101 and the new 212 ramps and Highway 41 and the new

212 ramps will be turned on prior to the opening of Hwy 212 between Dell Road and

Hwy 41.

Trails – The East Creek Trail will be closed until mid-December and will be reopened

on wood chips over the winter. Koehnen Creek Trail on the North side of Hwy 212

will be closed over the winter. Koehnen Creek Trail crossing under Hwy 212 will have

intermittent closures over the winter. Bavaria Road Trail will be closed during the

winter - the Hwy 41 Road Trail should be used as the alternate route.

ONGOING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.

Winter Activities – Some construction activities, particularly on bridges, will

continue throughout the winter.
