The City Counsil now will make this decision based on what's in the best interest of the city as a whole. The increased visibility, revenue, and visitors will guide their decision.

When you buy a lot, you don't buy your VIEW. You buy your LOT. If you want to control the property across the street, then buy it.

Come on people, lets get real. The best thing that could happen to Chanhassen is to get a Harley dealership. I hope that the people of Chanhassen do not let only 100 homes stop progress in this city. Harley riders are some of the most friendly people that have ever encountered. I hope that the council members get behind this and support it all the way

Its not so much anti-harley, its the
location of the harley dealer, or any
type of dealership at that location.

Please understand Mr....

Please understand

Mr. Wallis,

This isn't about 100 homes... it is 135 in one
neighborhood and approx. 65 others in three other
smaller neighborhoods or over 800 Chanhassen Residents
that opose a HEAVY COMMERCIAL business within 100 feet
of 50 residents.

1 - Do you realize that the 85,000 square feet proposed is the size of 2 and 1/2 of most Best Buy stores?

2 - Do you realize that the noise that comes from a dealership of anykind is higher that typical traffic or standard or light commercial?

3 - Do you realize that EVEN with restrictions, these riders will choose to come through these neighborhoods to test their bikes?

4 - Do you realize that looking at an 85' glowing harley sign is not appealing to look at even it they, "choose to dim" it in the evening? P-L-E-A-S-E!

5 - Do you realize that the noise will be consistant and higher than another type of retail or light commercial business?

"The best thing to happen to Chanhassen" Does that mean that you think anyone who doesn't want this, doesn't want good things for Chanhassen?

This is not about Harley Davidson as a company or the
friendly Harley riders.

The city assured us of this to us when the bus station
was discussed with a townhome and then retail buffer 3
years ago.

WE ARE NOT ANTI-HARLEY as a group we are anti- LARGE
BOX, HEAVY COMMERCIAL OR INDUSTRIAL within the sound
area of our homes, safety of our children, or the sight
of a glowing orange sign.

Try again Mr. Wallis. I am not convinced you understand what is best for our city when it hurts those citizens who make Chanhassen the wonderful place that it is.

SHHH! Chan Citizens, REV UP...

SHHH! Chan Citizens, REV UP YOUR ENGINES!

It appears that Mr. Gianetti, owner of the St. Paul Harley Davidson Dealership purchased the disputed, residentially-zoned property on the SW corner of 101 and Lyman Blvd.?!

Link:

http://gis.co.carver.mn.us/website/parcel_search/default.asp?action=map_...

I believe the site map speaks volumes; volumes of residential homes that surround this residential property.

Mr. Gianetti previously proposed to place an 80,000++ sq. ft. facility in the middle of the existing neighborhood: 2,000-2,500 sq.ft. homes, making his proposed dealership the LARGEST in the upper-Midwest.

Do some research. Look for another dealership that has been placed on residential property surrounded by homes with no regard to the impact on the community.

Please contact the city council. VOICE your concerns about re-zoning! In order for Mr. Gianetti's proposed plan to go through, the land has to be re-zoned for commercial use. It has NOT happened YET!

Do not allow this land re-zoning to "SOMEHOW" get approved without any regard to the citizens of Chanhassen.

Let's keep Chanhassen a community we can all believe in and be proud of, including our elected officials! Let's do the right thing! There is still commercial land for sale in Chanhassen, welcoming new business, including Harley Davidson Dealerships!
