GoCarverGo website goes live Aug. 1
Carver County’s Active Living Initiative went public with a new website on Aug. 1. Check out www.gocarvergo.org for events and resources in all cities throughout the county that promote physical activity.
GoCarverGo features a Carver County specific mapping system that allows users to locate local parks and trails. The website’s mapping feature also allows users to map out their own personal walking, biking and running routes. Check the website out on a regular basis as GoCarverGo will be continuously updated with new features and upcoming physical activity events.
The website is designed to increase awareness and use of existing trails, paths, parks and facilities in the county. GoCarverGo also educates the public about the importance of physical activity, assists citizen groups and community partners in highlighting local active living opportunities and events, and involves citizens and landowners in the planning of their communities.
GoCarverGo is a joint effort between Public Health, Land and Water Services, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Community Development Agency, Parks and Trails Department and City Planners. The website is funded by Prevention Minnesota, a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Initiative.
