The filing period for state and county political offices is now open. The filing period runs through July 15.
In Carver County, there will be elections for commissioner districts 2 and 4 seats in November. Thus far, both incumbents have filed. Tom Workman, Chanhassen, has filed for the District 2 seat. Tim Lynch, Mayer, has filed for the District 4 seat.
There are also three soil and water district positions up for election this year.
In Soil and Water District 1, which represents Chaska and Chanhassen, incumbent commissioner Ted Beise has filed for re-election.
Incumbent state Rep. Joe Hoppe, a Chaska Republican, has filed for re-election.
Incumbent judges Kevin Eide and Michael Fahey have filed for re-election to their First Judicial District seats.
The filing period for city of Chanhassen council positions runs from Aug. 26 to Sept. 9. The seats currently held by Bethany Tjornhom and Jerry McDonald are up for election this year.
