State MCA-II test results released recently indicate local District 112 students continue to score better than their counterparts across the state. Students across the state took the tests last spring as a part of the federal No Child Left Behind program.

Jim Bauck began his tenure as the District 112 Superintendent on July 1, replacing David Jennings, who served in the position for the past five years prior to his retirement.
David Stauffer, incoming senior, and Allie Vreeman, incoming junior are just two of a group of Chanhassen High School students who want to start a debate team. David and Allie have some fun with the group's search for a debate coach.
Minnetonka High School was ranked number four in the state of Minnesota and number 285 in the entire country by Newsweek Magazine. Chaska High School also made the list at number 1,608.
A Minnetonka all-class reunion is this weekend. Fabian and Bobby Vee will perform at Minnetonka High School Friday night, July 30. A breakfast and tours of the high school take place on Saturday, July 31, from 9 a.m.-noon, and a street dance will be held in downtown Excelsior in the evening. The Minnetonka School District has signed a three-year contract with First Student, Inc., to provide special education school bus transportation. The special education transportation contract will begin on Aug. 1. First Student will provide a fleet of 26 new minibuses, six of which will be lift-equipped, as well a full-sized, lift-equipped bus.
First Student has served the Minnetonka district for more than 30 years. In addition to the new special education buses, the company will continue to provide general school bus transportation services with a fleet of 49 buses.

Minnetonka School District and Eastern Carver County Schools students scored among the best students in the state on their recent MCA-II (Minnesota Comprehension Assessment) state math and reading tests.
Governor Tim Pawlenty on June 30 announced the appointment of 14 members to the Health Care Reform Task Force. William Wenmark, former chairman and founder of NOW Medical Centers, is on the task force, which is charged with studying the Minnesota implementation of the federal health care bill and issuing a report in December 2010.
