Minnetonka High School was ranked number four in the state of Minnesota and number 285 in the entire country by Newsweek Magazine. Chaska High School also made the list at number 1,608.
The selection marks the first time Chaska High has been selected for the yearly honor. Twenty-eight Minnesota high schools made the list in 2010. Each year, Newsweek picks the best high schools in the country based on how hard school staffs work to challenge students with advanced placement and International Baccalaureate college-level courses and tests.
The top Minnesota schools are as follows: Southwest High School in Minneapolis (#116 nationally), St. Louis Park High School (#157), Edina High School (#178), Minnetonka (#291), and Eastview High School in Apple Valley (#491).
