This summer, Minnetonka Community Education and Tonka Tutoring will provide writing support to high school students through a new summer tutoring program. Recent MHS graduates, who served as Minnetonka High School Writing Center student tutors during high school, will provide writing support for current high school students who would like to:

• Reinforce what they learned during the school year
• Work on specific writing skills
• Prepare for the transition to high school or to IB writing
• Get started on college essays
• Prepare for SAT/ACT writing tests

Summer writing program tutors have excellent writing and communication skills and have extensive experience providing feedback and one-on-one writing instruction. They have each successfully completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and will attend college next fall.

Summer tutoring will take place in the MHS Media Center. Fees are very affordable at $72 for four sessions or $144 for eight sessions. For more information on registration and scheduling, contact Katie Smith at 952.401.6828 or katie.smith@minnetonka.k12.mn.us.

Year-Round Tutoring
Minnetonka Community Education also offers Tonka Tutoring throughout the school year at all school sites for grades K-12. Hours are flexible and determined by tutor availability but are generally Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. during summer and Monday-Thursday after school until 7 p.m. during the school year. All tutors have college degrees and a background in education.
