Carver County Parks needs your help to remove buckthorn, an exotic plant, on Saturday October 18th from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Lake Minnewashta Regional Park located on TH 41 between TH 5 and TH 7 in Chanhassen. Carver County Parks has a morning dedicated to restoring Lake Minnewashta Regional Park to a more natural state. Groups, families and individuals are invited to take part in the Carver County Parks Buckthorn Roundup. Lunch will be provided by the park staff around the noon hour for those who participate in the clean-up. Participants should wear work clothes, supportive footwear and work gloves and bring hand pruners if they have them. We will gather at the nature parking lot (next to boat access #1) at Lake Minnewashta Regional Park between 9:30 a.m.-10 a.m. If you or a group is interested in volunteering with this event please contact the Carver County Parks and register to ensure enough food is available for all those who participate.
