Skippers in section boys lacrosse finals

After two rounds of the Section 6 boys lacrosse tournament, it comes down to No. 1 vs. No. 2. Minnetonka, the section’s top-seeded team, cruised past fifth seed Maple Grove 13-4 in the semifinals on Wednesday. Second seed Eden Prairie dispatched third seed Wayzata 15-5 on Wednesday. The Skippers, 11-2 on the season, will meet EP for a spot in the state tournament at 7 p.m. on Friday at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School’s field. The Section 4 final has upset-minded sixth seed White Bear Lake Area going against top seed Mounds View at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Breck High School. The Section 5 final features top seed Blake against #2 seed Bloomington Jefferson at 7:15 p.m. on Friday at Breck High School. The Section 3 championship has second seed Eagan visiting top seed Eastview at 7 p.m. on Friday.
The four-team state tournament is scheduled to begin May 21 with quarterfinal matches at Hopkins The championship game is set for 8 p.m. on May 23 at Wayzata High School, with the third-place game preceding at 6 p.m.
