DFL endorses Sarvi bid for Congress
May 5, 2008 - 10:01am — rcraw
The Democratic Farmer Labor Party held its Second Congressional District convention on Saturday, May 3 in Faribault. Senate District 34, which covers Carver County and a small part of Scott County, had 14 delegates participate in the convention.
The main business of the convention included a congressional endorsement and election of delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Senate District 34 was well represented in these elections. Steve Sarvi of Watertown was endorsed as the second district congressional candidate and Jacob Breedlove of Chanhassen was elected as a delegate to the national convention, which will be held in Denver in August.
The Clinton for President sub-caucus elected one male and one female delegate and the Obama for President sub-caucus elected two female delegates, one male and one male alternate. Jacob was elected out of the Obama sub-caucus. He is a University of Minnesota student who is also working on the Obama campaign.
