Three men have been arrested in conjunction with home burglaries in Carver County and as many as 10 other counties around the state and Wisconsin, according to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.
A sex offender from Chaska has been sentenced to 144 months in prison for violating his probation and failing to register as a predatory offender, according to a press release from Carver County Attorney Jim Keeler.
The Carver County Sheriff's Office responded to an attempted bank robbery at TCF Bank in Chanhassen on Monday.
According to Sheriff Bud Olson, the incident occurred around 6:45 a.m. Displaying guns, two robbery suspects approached employees who were opening the bank. An employee prevented the suspects from entering the bank by securing the door, according to a Chanhassen Crime Alert.
'Possible suspect' in recent burglaries remains at large
Burglaries and thefts have been occurring in Chanhassen since mid-August, and the local law enforcement community is calling them "crimes of opportunity" because in each case the perpetrators targeted unlocked and open doors.
Increased DWI enforcement patrols start tonight across Minnesota and the nation and will continue through Labor Day. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) Office of Traffic Safety reports the last two weekends in August and Labor Day weekend have been in the top 11 deadliest weekends for alcohol-related crashes over the last three years — resulting in 29 deaths.
A Carver County jury found Daniel Reid Farrington, 25, of Chaska, guilty of fleeing police in a high speed chase that occurred on Highway 212 in Chanhassen and into Eden Prairie on April 3, 2010.

The events of Sunday, July 25, left a woman in protective custody and her supposed boyfriend under arrest.
Case under investigation
On July 31 a car was clocked driving 94 m.p.h. eastbound on Highway 5 near the intersection of Highways 5 and 41, but the suspect vehicle and driver seem to have disappeared into the black of night.
The Carver County deputies assigned to the cities of Chanhassen, Victoria, and Carver and the townships of Laketown, San Francisco and Dahlgren responded to the following calls from July 26 to Aug 1.
July 26
At 5:50 p.m., responded to 300 block, Lake Drive East, Chanhassen, for report of fradulent use of prescription. An adult female was arrested for prescription forgery.
July 27
At 7:03 p.m., responded to intersection of Galpin Boulevard and Topaz Drive, Chanhassen, for report of a dog that bit an adult female.
