Photo by Forrest Adams: These statues of Buddha, dragons, and wise sages are for sale from a vendor near the Great Wall of China. They reveal several aspects of China’s diverse religious heritage. Buddhism is said to have spread into China from India through Buddhist priests in ancient years and developed a Chinese face between the 3rd and 6th centuries AD. Chinese Buddhism integrates the ideas of Confucianism and Taoism.
