This year's state legislature is scheduled to be in session from Feb. 12, 2008, and the political discourse is sure to be rich. Isn't it always? Or is a better word shrill? Contentious? Rancorous?
However you feel about politics and the level of discourse, the elected public officials that meet in St. Paul are our representatives. They are our voice addressing the issues. At least they should be.
But how do we know if they're representing us if we don't pay attention on the local level? We are effectively marginalized because we don't have information. Let's strive for more information this year.
Transportation funding, taxes and economic development are just a few of the issues we'll be tracking this session. Add comments as you wish.
