The National Weather Service Office says that the 2007-2008 snow season is over 80% done for the Twin Cities, at least according to snowfall climatology. Much of central and south central Minnesota continue to run well below normal in terms of snowfall, with the Tuesday night and Wednesday snow [1] hardly cutting into this deficit. As you look eastward into western Wisconsin, winter snowfall amounts come up quickly. Eau Claire has seen above normal totals through this winter.
A monthly breakdown for the Twin Cities reveals that after one of the driest Novembers on record, a wet December highlighted by several snow events [2] helped bring the Twin Cities to near normal. But the 2008 portion of this winter has seen a dry pattern take hold with no signs in the next five to seven days of ending.
