Chaska's Boylan is Miss Basketball 2008

 Courtney Boylan scored 34 points, but the Hawks fell 63-57 to Lake Conference rival Eastview in the third-place state tournament game Saturday at Concordia College in St. Paul. The fourth-place finish was the second-best in Hawks history, since finishing Courtney Boylan

Chaska senior Courtney Boylan has had a record-setting career for the Hawks girls basketball team.

After leading Chaska to its first state tournament in 10 seasons, Boylan is off to the University of Michigan.

Before that, there is one last honor.

Boylan was selected as Miss Basketball on Sunday night at the 34th annual Awards Banquet at St. Louis Park.

Boylan was one of five finalists for the honor, along with Kiara Buford
of St. Paul Central, Brianna Mastey of Becker, Brittnye McSparron of
Eastview and Kamille Wahlin of Crookston.

Jordan Taylor of Class 3A state champion Benilde-St. Margaret's was named Mr. Basketball.

Finalists included Anthony Tucker of Minnetonka, Jared Berggren of
Princeton, Michael Floyd of Cretin-Derham Hall, Cody Schilling of
Ellsworth.
