The Stanford Athletic Department reported that Chaska High School graduate and Cardinal football center Tim Mattran has signed a free-agent contract with the Minnesota Vikings.
Mattran was one of seven Cardinal players to sign free-agent contracts with NFL teams.

Mattran, of Chanhassen, was included on the 2007 Rimington Award Watch List that honors the nation's top center and started all 12 games last season after missing the entire 2006 campaign due to a leg injury.
He finished his career at Stanford with 18 starts after joining Stanford as a walk-on in 2002. The CHS valedictorian in 2002, Mattran made four Pac-10 Conference Academic All-America teams.
Mattran will work out at Winter Park this weekend with the Vikings' 15 other undrafted free agents:
