Development of the city’s commercial sector is on schedule to continue this summer as many projects have already been approved and several others are pending city council approval. Here’s the projects you may see and will see this summer around the city.
Carver County Service Center
City councilors are scheduled to discuss this at their regularly scheduled May 12 meeting. The county’s request is to build a new service center in Chanhassen. It would be a 13,260 square-foot two-story office building located at 7808 Kerber Boulevard. The Planning Commission [0] public hearing was on April 15.
Superdog Country Club
If approved by the planning commission at a May 20 public hearing, this could come up at the June 9 city council meeting. The developer plans a 21,000 square-foot one-story veterinary clinic and kennel located at 2910 82nd Street.
Walgreens and retail
The city council has yet to take action on plans for a developer to build two retail buildings and upgrade the façade and parking lot of an existing strip mall on the southwest corner of the intersection of Highway 41 and Highway 7 (2401 and 2499 Highway 7). The Planning Commission [0] public hearing date was April 15. The city council is scheduled to discuss it at their May 12 meeting.
Audubon Corporate Center/IDI
This project was approved by the city council on April 14. It consists of the developer dividing 4.19 acres into two lots for a 45,000 square-foot one-story office/warehouse building with a future 15,000 square-foot expansion; and a Wetland Alteration Permit was issued to alter or fill wetlands on site. It is located at 8301 Audubon Road. The planning commission [0] public hearing date was March 18.
Jimmy Johns
Construction of 1,650 square-foot one-story Jimmy Johns restaurant building in Market Street Station, 7851 Market Boulevard, was approved in March. It will stand apart from the Market Street Station building.
Crossroads of Chanhassen
The Crossroads of Chanhassen development will cover 14.90 acres at the northwest corner of Lyman Boulevard and Highway 101 divided into five lots. On them, eight buildings, including a gas station/convenience store, car wash, deli, bank and liquor store, could be constructed.
Business Impact Group/ Snap Fitness
This 50,000 square-foot office/warehouse building will be one story and 24-feet high, except at the entrance where it will be 26 feet high. It was be rock-faced with a brown colored stone veneer, located at 2411 Galpin Court.
