Minnetonka had both ends of a shutout at the Section 2-3A softball tournament on Tuesday at Caswell Park in North Mankato.
Unfortunately for Chaska, the Skippers had their best game first.
The Skippers shut out Chaska 4-0 in the first round, but fell 10-0 in six innings to top seed Mankato West in the second round.
Mankato West hurler Ashley Veroeven had 12 strikeouts and issued no walks in the rout.
Chaska dropped to the one-loss bracket to face New Prague at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Caswell. Mankato East edged New Prague 1-0 in the tournament’s second round.
Minnetonka will take on Willmar on Tuesday, as the Cardinals fell 12-6 to New Prague in the first round.
Chaska is 6-15 overall going into the game.
