Catie Ladner and Danielle Williams
Two players from Chaska’s girls hockey team – Catie Ladner of Chaska and Danielle Williams of Waconia – were selected to participate in the USA Hockey National Development Camps being held in Rochester, N.Y. The camp begins Saturday, and runs to Aug. 2.
Ladner and Williams were chosen out of a field of 320 candidates to represent Minnesota in the Advance 16 camp.
The National Development Camp is used by USA Hockey to select and train the best players in the country to compete at the Olympics and National levels. The camps also serve as a showcase where players are evaluated by scouts and coaches from colleges all over the country.
Ladner and Williams both attend Chaska High School and will be juniors this fall.
Williams led the Hawks in scoring last season with 16 goals and 14 assists, and also led the team in 2006-07 with 15 goals.
Ladner, a four-year Hawk veteran defender, had six goals and nine assists last season, and was second on the team with 11 goals and 13 assists as a freshman.
