Chaska's Chris Brown
Dundas scored an 8-3 victory over the Chaska Cubs on Saturday at Athletic Park, knocking the home team from the state amateur baseball tournament.
The Cubs came up with plenty of hits (12) in the game, but could not come up with enough game-changers.
The Dukes tagged Cub starter Ryan Seifert with 10 hits over 5-2/3 innings and scored twice in the first, third and sixth innings.

Chaska started with a three-hit first inning, as Eric Welter knocked a one-out single up the middle and took third as Brad Keenan added a two-out base hit. Matt Lane then knocked in Welter with another single.
The Dukes also got started in a hurry. Brandon Rolloff led off with a single, Todd Mathison reached on an error and Javy Guevara tapped an infield single to load the bases.
Steve Loos then grounded into a double play to score Rolloff.
Rich Bordas added a second run with a double to the gap in right-center to score Mathison. Seifert ended the rally with the first of his six strikeouts in the game.
Dundas took the lead for good in the third inning, as Mathison banged a seeing-eye single and Loos blasted a two-run home run to left field.
The Dukes struck again in the sixth inning with an extended
two-out rally. Robin Moore and Rolloff hit singles and Mathison brought both home with a blooper to shallow right-center. Cub center fielder Brian Astry made a long run, dove and got a glove on the ball, but could not hold on after crashing to the ground.
That was all for Seifert, as reliever Matt Lane came in to surrender a walk and get a strikeout to end the inning.
Dundas extended the lead to six with a two-out grounder that went for an error and allowed two more runners to cross the plate.
Chaska had at least one baserunner in each inning, but could only get one more run in the game. Astry led off the ninth inning with a single and stole second base. Welter then cracked a double into the right-field corner for the final Cub run.
Chaska finished the season 33-13 overall. The Dukes advance to the double-elimination round to face Eagan or Coon Rapids at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 at Shakopee’s Joe Schleper Field.
The end of the game meant the end of an era in Chaska baseball, as veterans Chris Brown, Welter, Keenan and Benji Borner all plan to make this their final amateur baseball season.
Section 3B did not fare better in the late game, as Miesville eliminated Jordan 6-4. Mudhen pitchers Luke Rasmussen and Adam Barta limited the Brewers to two hits in the game, outdueling Green Isle draftee Mac Zachow.
