Show off your tractor at threshers festival Aug. 5-7

The Scott Carver Threshers Festival will include a Model T Shop, vintage farm equipment including cars and trucks, mule team wagon rides, vintage baseball with 1860s rules, pedal tractor pull, live music and entertainment, machinery demonstrations, country store, food and refreshments.

Time: 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Aug. 5-6; 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7

Cost: $8 for admission and collectible button, children 12 and younger free

Location: Scott-Carver Threshers Park, 7151 W. 190th St., St. Lawrence Township, near Jordan

Make sure to brake for the Model T cars you see driving to the show. This year at the Threshers show they're opening a brand-new building constructed as a Model T garage.

My first time to the threshers festival was in 2005. I bought a horseshoe. It cost $3.

When I was really young there was an Iron Smith who made these little horse shoes for a quarter. It would be neat if they started that up again.

That is, that they exist...not that they will play at the Threshers Fest. However, last year I think there was a good band to hear if you and a partner like to waltz.

Super fun, especially if you like old-time machinery! You've got to see this threshers festival. Bring the kids down to Threshers Park and get all of their questions answered. You might learn something, too.
